At 10:02am BBT, the live feeds switched off for the Veto Comp players to get picked. As soon as the feeds come back, I'll post the veto comp players below.
Playing for Veto:
James/Clay/Shelli/Jackie/Vanessa/Becky
Host: Julia
Host: Julia
James picked HG Choice and picked Jackie. He just told Austin he couldn't have picked him because it would've been too obvious. As we learned in the Overnighter, Becky plans on not trying to win Veto because it wouldn't be good for her game. (This was during the Johnny Mac/Becky convo last night.) James definitely wouldn't use the veto as he wants the noms to stay the same, and neither would Jackie. Vanessa is always a wild card, though she did tell James last night that she wouldn't use it unless he tells her to. So it seems like the odds are against Clay/Shelli for today's veto comp.
Veto Comp to be played later today!
Clay/Shelli are upset.
**I'm gonna take the night off, I'm feeling really sick, been in bed all afternoon. (Is there a flu going around or something??) I'll be back with the Overnighter tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the feeds!
Winner of the POV is:
JAMES!!!!
JAMES!!!!
Clay/Shelli are upset.

If Clay saves her and not himself.. He deserves to go home.
Just when I was almost done with this season... No more BOB and someone other than the 6 win HOH!!! Let's make it 2 weeks in a row and not just a one hitter
I agree...how can you come into this game and play for someone else to win...smh...he would be the biggest idiot ever if he did that. I'm sure his family is looking at this, cringing at the fact that he would do that.
Yes. I really hope Jackie wins hoh next week!
I hope anyone but Clay or Shelli win this
I really hope Sheli wins veto. While I know she is far from a fan favorite she has been playing the game, and playing hard, since the beginning. Meg and Jackie sleep 15 hours a day and just started playing this week. I know they are nice people and it's fun to root for the underdog I just feel like Sheli deserves to make jury at least. I guess if she can win or talk her way off the block this week it only proves that she is a good player. Plus credit is due for how long she stayed on that wall.
Jamie, I don't understand. Why was John crying after the POV? Wouldn't be be happy that the noms will probably stay the same?
James with the POV!!! That Jason eviction turned him into a beast
Woohoo ... James won the POV!
Sorry you don't feel well Jamie definitely go ahead and get some rest, thanks for all you do.
Thank you so much. Xo
jamie - get your rest girl!! squeeze the poochie!
So glad Clay/Shelli didn't win veto - one of them are going home - YEA!!
Hope you feel better soon. Drink plenty of fluids.
Feel better Jamie =)
Thanks!! :)
Ty! Drinking pedialyte, hoping it helps.
Thank you, razzy!!
I'm not sure, I was in bed resting. I did see others on Twitter were just as confused tho.
I hope you feel better Jamie!
Hope u feel better soon Jamie.
Thanks, love!
James is a disgrace to all "country folk". I can't imagine anyone respecting him after going back on his word like he did. No one should trust him. Caleb from last year was "country" and he was true to his word. This guy is not. He reminds me of Andy from a past BB. BB hit a new low when Andy won BB 15.
A good game player would use this opportunity to backdoor someone, gain concessions from Clay and Shelli and maybe then retain some semblance of respectability and man of his word. I don't see that kind of a "man" in him. He seems to have one of those "little" complexes some men get.
Hope you feel better soon!
I hope Jason is seeing it this week and feeling at least a little sense of redemption. James won HOH but Jason is the one who set the actions in motion for this week. Good for you Jason, having an impact even though you just left. Now they need to wake up to Vanessa's BS and throw her out next. Bye bye Shelli.
Get some rest Jamie hope you feel better.
I hope Meg, Jackie, or Jonny Mac win Hoh next week. Sure the other side will be gunning for James.
Really? Must not be watching the same show as you...
I don't understand why you're so upset he lied about keeping them off the block. Shelli, Clay and Vanessa have all lied numerous times within the game. Just because they lie on BB doesn't make them horrible people. Unfortunately sometimes lies have to be told in that house. It doesn't mean he isn't a respectable countrymen.
If James had honored a deal given to him by Shelli, who has proven that she and her alliance are not to be trusted (after all it is Big Brother!), he would have been one of the dumbest players in BB history. I am so happy some excitement has come back into the game, this summer has been a snoozefest till now.
Regarding JMac: I read on twitter from one of the live feeders that he was crying because he thinks Clay is going home. What the heck? Why would he have any loyalty to Clay or any of that crowd? He was never part of the Sixth Sense and has been used by them with no alliance offered in return. I also read that both he and Meg got a little drunk; apparently there was wine during the POV for those who weren't have nots, which may also explain the tears.
I make allowances for someone like Steve who is somewhat awkward, but when he said "Get to steppin"" in Jason's goodbye message, I thought, say what? Okay, I know he and Jason didn't get on and am not upset that he said something negative, just baffled that he would borrow a line from the infamous Gina Marie Zimmerman. Kind of don't like him now; also his strategy is not that great. He wants to keep "big targets" in the house so he can stay under the radar, but has no idea his name is constantly being thrown out as a nomination suggestion; probably the only thing saving him is Vanessa.
Apparently there was much wailing of gnashing of teeth during the nomination ceremony, I hope CBS shows it.
I believe "get to steppin" originated with Boogie. Ian also used it when evicting Boogie.
If you make a deal with someone, you are honor bound to keep it unless and until you find out the other person has no intention of keeping the agreement or will not honor the terms of the agreement. Shelli and James made a tit for tat agreement where Shelli agreed to throw the comp to James in return for not putting her or Clay up. That is a whole lot different from making an agreement with, for example, Austin to keep him safe and then find out his plan is to throw you under the bus.
BB is a game and there are times when honor calls for an agreement to be broken. No such time existed for James. He is just a little man trying to make a "big move". If I was his friend back home, I no longer would trust him. His true character came out.
The same goes for Jason. Good riddance. He was a pathetic player and a less than good person. His Pee Wee Herman persona will not be missed by me. James, Meg, Austin and Jackie should go next. That will get rid of the riff raff.
Jamie, hope you're better. That damn flu comes out of left field and hits like a ton of bricks. Get yourself some hot tea, chicken soup and Popsicles. Stay in bed. Tamiflu is good too but I think you need a script. We all appreciate you and your commitment to the blog but I think I can speak for everyone by saying STAY IN BED AND GET WELL SOON! We will be here checking on you.
Yes concentrate on getting better. We are entertaining each other with nonsensical statements about people we don't know on TV. Very entertaining in its self.
Geez...you're reading wayyyy too much into it. It's a game, a game where lies, back-stabbing, and broken promises are gonna happen. James is playing the game. You know nothing about this person in real life to attack his character, what you see is a role that he's playing in order to win 500 grand. I may have done the exact same thing if I were in that house playing that dog-eat-dog game, but people who know me, knows that it is nothing more than a game move and they wouldnt suddenly mistrust me or second guess my character because of it.
James should win the game or johnny mac
Rigs, I have watched Big Brothet every seasons, as far as "villains" go James is pretty darned mild lol.
I'll give you an example of character. Meg said she couldn't vote out Clay to his face. I would trust this person outside of the house. If she had said OK, I will vote you out if that is what you want and she didn't do it. I would say that is "playing the game". Meg did not get anything in return in this deal. James did get the wind then and there on a promise that he would not put up Clay or Shelli. Bad character shows up in situations like this. James has some character flaws. Miko, you might have done as James did, I would not have. I would have said to Shelli, sorry, I am playing to win, you are on your own. If I did make a deal, I would have stuck to it unless I found out Shelli was going against her word, which she couldn't in this case. Since she couldn't, the honorable thing to do is honor your word. Dianne, James is a weasel, much like Andy was. That season was a low point for BB.
Uh.......this is big brother we are talking about. That's what happens. Put your big girl panties on a quit whining.
Totally agree. There are many more unsavoury characters that have been on this show. My #1 most disliked Caleb. But that's just me. James doesn't even come close.
Shelli is in the exact same house as James, playing the exact same game as James, fighting for the exact same prize at the end. That is her own fault if she put her own game at risk by believing that someone would not put her up. She claims that she could have won but she didnt want this to be her 3rd HOH...oh well...that decision bit her in the butt because James turned on her..it was all her own decision to make. Again, its a game...if you dont want to be put up on the block, then you need to continue to play in the comp and not put your fate in someone elses hand....so that was her bad....and James simply accepted her offer...he has a right to change his mnd at any point...its the name of the game..if shes foolish enough to make a deal with someone she has never been aligned with then again, thats her bad.
I agree 100%
James is playing a great game. I hope he wins everything. To those whining about him putting up Clay and Shelli, that was a great move and a move that was much needed, so put on your big girl panties and watch a grey BB17 unfold before your eyes. GO JAMES!!!!!
Totally agree
