Happy Live Eviction Day, BB addicts!! There's no Overnighter today because frankly, I'm tired of typing the same exact stuff for 6 days in a row now. lol Johnny Mac is going out the door tonight, unless his proposed plan to Vanessa last night somehow works. When Vanessa told him last night that the votes aren't there to keep him, he told Vanessa that her/him/Meg/James can team up to go after the Austwins. This is a pretty solid strategy, and with Vanessa *knowing* she's at the bottom of the totem pole with the Austwins, she should run with this proposal and draw a line in the sand tonight. Tonight's live eviction show will start at 9pm EST as usual and we'll most likely see JM leave and the houseugests and returning jurors will battle it out for HOH/return to the house. (Not sure exactly how they're gonna set that up yet, we'll find out tonight.)

If I could pin down one overall problem with this cast, it's that these people are not hungry for the prize.
None of them seem more than faintly aware that they are playing for half a million dollars. If they are, they don't seem to care that much. I'm not seeing the sense of urgency from anyone except possibly Vanessa, who needs the money the least out of most of these people.
Even James, who has a daughter back home and is by no means wealthy, has said he'll be content with jury money, though that could have just been a ruse to take Vanessa's attention off him. But still.
I'm not sensing the drive from these people that I remember from past HGs.
A second thing BB needs to fix for next year: Take the schedule and throw it in the trash, and start fresh.
We don't need silly and ultimately pointless "twists" like BB takeover. A good, hungry cast provides all the drama we need. But we also need the format of the show to stop being so predictable, to the point where the HGs know exactly what's coming and when. We need new comps. We need to shift around the timing of DEs and endurance comps, or find new surprises to mix things up. We need twists that augment the human drama rather than attempt to manufacture or sabotage it.
I get why the show has become repetitive. New comps and ideas cost money to develop. But a reality show like BB is appealing to CBS precisely because it's cheap to produce.
But predictability should not be the outcome of any show whose supposed motto is... ugh. I'm not going to say it. You know the one I mean.

JMac has a point - it does seem better for them to keep jmac - I can't believe the twins are still together in this house. Let's hope we get a change of HOH tonite and someone good comes back in!

For those who think some of us want the "other side of the house" to win. It's not that I want the people on that side to win, unless it's James or the returning HG. The reason I would like to see house turn around is because if we don't root for the other side of the house, the Austwins will not be evicted. I would hate to see them win.
The twins are extremely spoiled and think everyone should thank them or bow down to them while they continue to whine. By now Austin should have learned that one word from Liz is all that is necessary. If his arm isn't in the right spot, all she needs to do is say "arm". Hilarious!
Vanessa is a bully in my mind but she certainly has played well to keep people in here this long.
As far as Shelli coming back, even though she knows and has said Van needs to go, she also realizes that she is good as she said to Jackie in the jury house. Shelli will flip flop if she sees that she needs to go with Van and later go with someone else. When the numbers get down, that's what they have to do in order to stay in the house.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Van win if she is F2 because they will have to look at how well she played the game.
Oh, and it's been said many times before, but it bears repeating: GET RID OF DOUBLE HOH AND THE BATTLE OF THE BLOCK! It makes comps more important in the game than strategy in the early weeks, but that's precisely the time when strategy should be most crucial! It ruins the game, CBS!

I miss the days when the houseguests didn't even have a clock to know what time it was. I miss the days when there were food comps for the week. Screw the slop and have-nots crap. Let them earn their food! I did like the concept of the BB Takeover, but it wasn't implemented correctly.
Expect the unexpected? Well, if BB keeps going the way it is, I'd expect it to not be on for very many more seasons. What would be unexpected is that they change their ways and make it more interesting and a lot less predictable.
These are all good ideas.
I enjoy Survivor and I think they could update BB with facets of that game. Comps for rewards, and rewards that really matter to people locked up together, say maybe a movie or good food/alcohol.
More interesting competitions are a must! I was excited at the start of the season with the takeover twist but it fizzled.
If CBS doesn't mix it up the show won't be renewed.
Jamie, curious. Do you have a way of seeing if Big Brother is going down in ratings week from week?

Just wondering how bad it's doing. I haven't watched an episode in over a week. Just not interested.
Wouldn't it be cool if the evicted house guest stayed in a separate house once evicted then each week, the two evictees would face off in some sort of comp. The winner stays in the evicted house until the next week and so on. Eventually, that player would get to return and no one would know! I believe Survivor does something similar but they know about it and Biggest Loser did this last season where they didn't know.
I have been watching BB since the start and it is getting to be a bit boring and expected. Whatever happened to expect the unexpected. Nothing unexpected every happens! They started out with so many comps and such and will probably end the show with a few (possibly golden POV or something). But nothing in the middle makes these past few weeks so BORING.
Jamie - I do not blame you for not watching the feeds and/or writing about it. I get it. Every Thursday, I am just HOPING someone new gets HOH and has the BALLS to get rid of Vanessa.
I have nothing against V but she is just too darn good. Come on houseguests...she is going to win and sadly, Austwins will get second place. Boo!
I agree and I commented a bunch of this the other day. There's too many people here that are just on vacation and want to hang out for the summer. Jason just wanted to stay
because he hated his life. Austin just wanted to make jury with Liz. Not enough that actually want to play the game. And I agree with the scheduling too, it's too predictable.
It'd also be nice if they could get people in there that want to make bold moves. This floater style of gameplay because "they don't want to get blood on their hands" is exceedingly boring to watch. And the house votes, a phenomenon that started last season? Boring. What happened to all the power shifts and the close votes? Everyone is scared shitless of offending someone even when they're in power.
I mean, guys, wake up! If the Austwins survive intact another week, they've pretty much got this in the bag based on numbers alone. It boggles my mind that this house has let this strong trio exist for so long and no one has the balls to take them on

It's like watching cavemen (the house) seeing fire (Vanessa) for the first time. They all are fascinated at nothing!! They say she is " a good player" but obviously she ISN'T otherwise they wouldn't know SHE IS A GOOD PLAYER.
This has been one of the reasons I am not so obsessed with the show anymore. The originality is down the toilet. Otev, "against the wall" endurance comps, fill the bowl comps.... Sooo boring.
Vanessa is a total bully...and she's not really fun to watch. At all.

How can James/Meg be so ignorant? Jmac too for that matter. It's a numbers game with the Austwins a solid 3. Remove Vanessa from that alliance as she sealed her own fate last night by exposing Steve and her so called alliance! She should have kept quiet which we know is impossible! I don't get why james and Meg wld keep Steve over JMac?!? Steve put up Meg and Jackie and sent Jackie one of their alliance members to jury. Steve had the opportunity to take V out at the double eviction. JMac has been way more loyal to James and Meg than Steve.
They need to keep JMac and use V for this one vote, then when a juror member comes back in..they all target Austin and his very annoying hyenas. They need to target Liz first cuz if they get her out then Austin will lose his shit and prolly ask to be voted out the nxt week just to be with Liz in jury.
Steve will not make any big moves, that's been proven. JMac will! Wake up janes and Meg!! Why is this even a discussion.
This season and the last two have been insanely boring and hard to watch. This isn't true big brother. This is little brother, do little as possible, let the bigger ones walk all over the smaller guys. And if I hear "Get blood on my hands" one more time I'm going to throw poo at the tv! There has been no blood shed throughout this game besides from the girls cycle each month! Gross huh and pathetic!!!

Total agree with so many on here. The lack of drive by these players is just insane. I would like Vanessa if she wasn't an emotional bully, Audrey 2.0, ugh! The twins wouldn't be bad if they didn't act entitled and whine so much. Austin would been okay but turned into a creepy, stoker-ish, stinky, wimpy, love slave. Steve the super fan turns out to be a self talking super fail. And James and Meg are just content to float till their evictions. Poor JMac starts to play only when his fate is doomed and maybe to late. Whomever returns most likely won't stay long and won't make much of a difference if stuck with these clowns.

Around 10:00 this morning JMac talked to James/Meg and told them about all the F5 alliances, etc. and they actually finally realized that they're in trouble. Duh! They said they would vote to keep him there if Van would go along with it. Finally, they realize that Austwins gotta go.
They talked to Van and I actually thought she was going to grab at the opportunity to work with them since she knows she's #4 on the totem pole (although it appears that they will get rid of her before Steve).
But, no, she runs to the HOH room and tells all. It was exciting for awhile thinking they were going to all make a move against the Austwins. They could have had the three votes to get Steve out instead. So disappointing.
Unless she is keeping it under her hat until 5:00, which is when the four of them (Van, JMac, James, Meg) were to meet in the purple room but it doesn't look like that meeting will be necessary after all.

Fans have said that for years. The show is so predictable not only for viewers but HG who know exactly what's going to happen and every type of challenge. We're due for hold /fold aren't we. But they keep the same producers and as long as ratings r stable, they have no incentive. They have a year to come up with some new ideas. Theres not much unexpected. Things like bringing a juror back are not new. Neither are most of the challenges. Survivor shakes it up more and they do 2 seasons a year
Do the HG realize twins are a greater bond than a showmance? Liz has 2 iron clad F2 deals. Vanessa despite being annoying has been ruling the game. Steve makeover looks good
