The Overnighter is gonna be a mix of the original Overnighter and my ranting. So bear with me as I'm just gonna type away and see what happens.
It's no secret that Jason is my favorite. Every year, my favorite gets taken out of the game, so I'm pretty used to it after blogging 9 seasons now. lol Though this isn't what my rant is about, it's probably not helping that my fav happens to be going home this week in addition to other crappy things happening in BB land.
Battle of the Block...it needs to go. Like, now. Never to return. It ruined last season and it's ruining this season. Period. It's not a "fan favorite". It never was. Never will be. The end.
BB Takeover...yea, I guess we're done with that now, since it only lasted..what?..3 weeks?? What happened to a 'twist every week'? Okay. I guess we'll just pretend they never said that pre-season and we all have to have amnesia that BB Takeover was ever really a thing. We must have all been dreaming that. Whatever.
Vanessa...she's basically been the HOH for 4 of the past 5 weeks. With her extreme paranoia, horrible gameplay, non-stop talking about "loyalties", and "her word", and "diving into a pool of concrete"..week after week...I just can't take it anymore. From a FAN OF THE GAME point of view, the lack of power shifts in that house is killing this season. That, mixed with the lack of power moves. (Umm you're gonna keep twins in the game & keep Austin who will align with them? Yea, that's smart Vanessa.) We're gonna keep seeing Vanessa/Shelli/Clay run over the other side of the house until 3-4 weeks from now when they finally have to start turning on each other.
Jackie...I take back every.single.bad.word I ever said about her. (Like calling her a BB "staff member" on Twitter when she would make a rare appearance on the feeds. lol) She has the biggest metaphoric balls in that house. Hands down. She has jumped from my least fav HG to my most loved within about a day. I am now #TeamJackie. Get'em, J!!
Becky...she's as useless as we all thought she was. Maybe even more so. She told Jackie last night that she's not gonna try to win HOH (*umm what?!) and that if she did win, she wouldn't go after 'big targets' like Vanessa because she "just can't do it". So she'd go after Steve. So wait a minute...you wouldn't go after the person who has made it clear to you that you are a useless pawn and puts your game-life at risk, and you'd go after Steve instead? Hmm. Ok. Why Jackie continues to have Becky as an ally, I'll never know. If I was her, I'd try to save Jason along with Meg/James and try to work on Dumb & Dumber (Shelli/Clay) to get the 5 needed votes this week.
Jason...I'd say his game is pretty much dead in the water and he knows it. He cried to Meg last night about how he was hoping BB would change his life and now it's not.
Austin...he pretty much doesn't care about the game anymore and is totally fixated on Liz and getting to jury with her. Everything else doesn't really matter to him at this point. Cupid shot a love-arrow in his ass and now he can't even see straight. I had so much hope for this guy at the beginning of the season (if y'all remember). But I didn't factor in the possibility of him falling in love and being blind to the game in front of him. lol
Clay and Shelli...can we have an Americas Vote and just kick these 2 houseguests out already? No?? Okay. It was worth asking. Anyway, last night C/S tried to do damage control with Meg/James/Jason by telling them that they didn't know Jason was gonna be targeted this week. But Jason/Meg/James (and Jackie) all now know that they were indeed involved. While they're all on to C/S and their lies, they're just gonna act like they don't know anything right now until they can figure out how to move forward from here.
Interesting enough, I thought since post-veto that we'd see Vanessa's game get blown up but it looks as if both Clay/Shelli might be bigger targets than V to the other side of the house, should they win HOH and gun after big targets.
The twins are both officially allowed to play and Julia will enter the house on Thursday at some point. When? That's a good question.
**And that's it for The Overnighter! We're still a couple days away from Thursday and anything can happen, but I doubt it. I think Jason will be going out the door on Thursday, Julia will enter, and then we'll get a new HOH (or 2, if the stupid dual HOH's thing is still taking place, grr!) and then it's a whole new week. I'll be back later with a quickie afternoon post to get us all caught up to speed.

Completely agree! My fave's always get the boot or get stupid (I really liked Van at first). And I totally hope Jackie can pull something off here and win this thing because like you, I am tired of a couple of people running the show and wiping the floor with everyone else. Maybe they need to alter their recruiting policies. It wasn't this way before a couple years ago. It used to be fun to watch, not painful, hahaha

Well said Jamie! This season is really taking a turn for the worse... Could go down as the worse season ever...My thing is if it's not broke, then why fix it.. Just go back to the way BB was supposed to be played. No more double HOH, or BOB... Boring!!!!!
It's been said that Austin entered the house with the intentions of being in a showmance because of the extra camera time. That's why he flirted with the twins (he's so in love he didn't know which twin he was in love with? Come on!) He was trying to get with Jackie, hard. He even flirted with Jason! He just was just throwing noodles at the wall trying to see if it would stick! AND for the last few days; I've been YELLING at the computer screen wondering WHY anyone thinks that Julia is going to be on board with what has happened!
I will be honest I only read blogs because well I can not stand the battle of the block. Boring... And sounds to me at least Jason brought some comic relief . With that gone ...snooze.

I didn't care for Jason at first but he's grown on me and he needs to stay. I hope he fights for votes and gets Becky out this week. She's absolutely worthless in this game. I'm sure she's a nice girl but not made for BB.

LOL!! OMG, Jamie - you crack me up! So honest, open and CORRECT! Thanks for that! I've been a BB fan for a long time, and to tell you the truth, I just don't care about this season. Maybe it was poor casting, bad acting, not enough diversity, I don't know. I'm just not 'into' this season like I have been in the past. Where are the Rennys, Evel Dicks and Chicken Georges of the world? Where are the true BB players? Other than Jason, and maybe Steve, I don't see anyone in the house who knows sh@t about Big Brother! They need to stop looking for house guests on social media and start acting like they give a damn about the true fans who stand in line for hours or submit tapes for auditions. :)

Rant on sister! I couldn't agree more - who the hell does the casting for this show??? They are horrible and should be fired immediately. Actually I think everyone should be fired - the challenges suck, hate the double HOH, etc. I don't read any other blogs - what are other people saying? Do they hate it like us?
And this cast - good god - so damn bad! It seems like they are trying to incorporate shows, movies and promos into the show way too much and it ruins it. I was thinking last week that the Chenbot has improved since her first season - LOL - she must have a hard time figuring out what to even say!
And yea - why is Jason just rolling over??? Why isn't he fighting to stay/??

Let's hope Jason is playing this down for Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and is hoping to flip the house on the overnight leading into Thursday.
The fact that Becky isn't willing to make a big move ticks me off so much. When she is eventually evicted I guarantee that she will say that "I'd wish I had made a big move earlier in the game so I wouldn't be here". Myself and countless other fans would love to be a houseguest and actually play the game unlike her.
Here's to hoping that Jackie's newfound confidence kicks her to the curb and allows Jason and the associated side of the house to come back with a vengeance.

That makes me so sad that Jason said he thought BB would change is life but now it won't. I think he will be shocked when he gets out of the house at how much love there is for him. I've thought from the beginning that his life is forever changed. He has been a fan favorite and I really think there will be something special in store for him. He's way too much of a character and has such an incredible personality to just be a forgotten BB cast member! I could really see his life changing drastically. I'm still hoping somehow he can get the votes to stay!!
I really like Jason, but he said he's not a strategist & I agree. He hasn't played the best game, but in this pack he's not alone. I would love it if he stayed but the odds are against it as the underdogs are not united.
I really don't know why JMac is so popular, he reminds me of a squeaky middle schooler whose voice hasn't changed, of course he can't help that; but does he even realize he is not in any way shape or form in an alliance with Vanessa, Clay or Shelli? He just does their bidding like a cheerful puppy. I hope this is not the real JMac (if it's not the real JMac he needs to come out of hiding and support Jason!).
We need an online petition to get rid of BOB, it's ruined the show (that and the casting director).
Personality wise, I think this an okay cast, but they're all super boring to watch play the game because they're mostly not playing it.
I loved Derrick, really appreciated his game, but how well he controlled the game also made it really boring. It was kind of like a really well played baseball game, you have to be a true fan to enjoy a 1-0 well played game.
Vanessa and Shelli have pretty much run the game, except that they're not playing the game well at all, they're not really good at it; so that is making it really boring in a worse way. (Seriously, when Shelli's group decided it made good sense to protect the twins and have another person to take out later, I knew we were toast.) Vanessa overthinks things 1000 times to much, and Shelli is more concerned about how her image on TV will be than playing the game. They just keep having the reins and the rest of the house was far to blind to see the big picture until now.
Now that the cat is out of the bag and the house is pretty much lying down and taking it, I'm about to abandon ship. You're losing somebody from your side now no matter what, why not save Jason to take some power back for yourselves? Jason needs to be selling that to the rest of the house while, because this is their last shot to really break up that core group.
In the old days, everyone knew who was in an alliance with whom and they faught against each other. When the brigade came in and secretly dominated, the show became boring. Ever since, the secret alliance runs through the rest of the house.
Maybe they should create two teams at the beginning to keep it from going one sided.
I think the problem is more bob than recruiting. I hate it! It lends to a big alliance running the whole house, wish they would go back to one hoh! 😟 I miss the good old days! I had high hopes for Dayvonne and Jason I really don't have anyone to route for now! James is sweet but he's not gonna win!
I like that idea, at least for a few weeks like in survivor. I think that what gets on my nerves the most this year is all of Vanessa talk about getting blood on her hands it doesn't even make sense. She wouldn't have any blood on her hands by getting Austin out, he would be gone and not on jury and the rest of the house wanted him gone so im not seeing where there is any blood. Now she has blood on her hands and pissed off the people that she told Austin was going

Jamie, I love your blog and your writing style! I'll be shocked if the producers...er, I mean the HGs... let Jason leave before Becky because at least he's spunky and funny and everyone left will be boring. Also, I think it's obvious that creepy Austin is playing up his "obsession" with Liz to try to take the target off his back and/or to try to be America's favorite HG.

I was wondering if any one caught how fast BB switched the twins this week. I thought they were being switched every 3 days, but it seemed like they switched them faster this week. Just before the BOB they put Liz in there, right after Vanessa told every thing to Julia. Julia never even mentioned the Austin thing to Liz. Just seemed a little odd to me, or was that production getting involved?
After watching After Dark last night I have also changed my opinion on Jackie. I loved when she went to Vanessa and basically told her that she was the only one to screw the final 8 deal and Vanessa kept back peddling while blaming it on an anonymous source. It seemed as if it was the last thing Vanessa expected. I think Jackie's game play is becoming a little more clear. As an amazing race competitor she had to lay low early and not stir the pot since they already had targets on their backs. But she is definitely stepping up her game now. I hope she wins HOH with James/Meg/Becky/Jmac. Time to flip this house upside down.
I totally agree Jamie. If the producers believe bringing back elements of the past 16 seasons constitutes new twist's/challenge's, etc. they should bring back the "rewind" to save Jason and redeem themselves with a triple eviction featuring "Poker Patty", "Sappy Shelli" and "Clueless Clay", they owe us that much! Get off their twisty, twist, twist (luv ya Wil) arse's and make it happen!

I didn't start watching BB until season 9 but I would honestly love a season with just a straight forward game. No twists, no BOB. I think first the mind games it would throw on the players, always expecting something but also to maybe get some more crazy moves. I miss people voting for who they want and not what everyone else wants. I miss people manipulating others. I miss Evel Dick type players.
Jason is truely why we watch BB. Love his personality. CBS, Time for a twist. Shake up the game. Somehow Jason must stay.
